My Story

Me.

A first-generation Filipino-American, I was born in the dusty diaspora of Las Vegas. I learned at a young age that I had a knack for writing. While others balked at trudging through another book report or essay, I dove right in. I loved the challenge of interpreting someone's idea, forming an opinion of my own and creating something new. As many local kids did, I attended UNLV (University of Never Leaving Vegas). I came out with a bachelor's degree in journalism and tried to find myself amongst the desert and the neon. After a few "floaty" years I began my communications career at MGM Resorts. There, my communications style unraveled - simple, clear, information forward with a tinge of humor if it fit. I learned how to write for a wide variety of audiences and even dipped into the events world where I also learned how much the two go hand-in-hand. A whirlwind or three later, I began working for the Las Vegas Valley Water District providing. At LVVWD I took a step back from communications and focused more on employee events and programming. Although it was a big step in a different direction, it was one that I needed to grow. Life happened and I had three kids - a daughter and twin boys -  with my everything, my wife, Jaimie. We needed all the help we could get and I thought it was a good time to take a little break to focus on my family. Currently, I'm back in the workforce as the Lifestyle Director of the radiant Cadence Community Master Association in Henderson, Nevada. I lead the charge in resident events, programming and communications. It's another big step into a different world, but that's pretty much what life seems to be. Always changing.
